It happened! Exactly two days after the first egg appeared, as we predicted, a second egg appeared in the nest.
Last season, the pair had as many as four eggs, which is why we are hopefully looking forward to more this year.
Typically, storks begin full incubation from the moment the second egg is laid. This allows the chicks to hatch at the smallest possible intervals, which promotes their even development and significantly increases the chances of survival for the youngest.
Now all that remains is for us to patiently observe the nest and keep our fingers crossed for more good news!
