After the recent fights in the nest, as predicted, a fourth egg appeared, which Przepiórek unhesitatingly threw out because it also did not belong to him. We all hoped that he would want to raise his own brood and that their common eggs would appear in the nest.
And so it happened that tonight, around 0:20, Trzcinka laid the fifth egg in a row. Unfortunately, it was also thrown out of the nest by Przepiórek. In recent days, the male has very rarely been in the nest and is also absent at night.
Although he returned and drove away the previously nesting male, depriving him of the chance for a successful brood, he currently shows no interest in raising young in our nest. This is difficult for us, observers, but it is worth remembering that nature has its own laws, and birds are guided primarily by instinct.
We can only hope that future seasons will be more favorable for our Trzcinka.
